She/Her

Hey there, I’m Lorie!

Before you were even able to think of who you were, the world already wrote your story. A story you didn’t really have authorship over to begin with. And the thing is, most of the world doesn’t understand you. The way it builds up. The emotions you feel, coming out of nowhere. The moments that feel a bit bigger than they should. The reactions you wish you could take back. And then afterwards? You’re left sitting with all of it…the regret, the confusion, the wondering of how did I end up here again?

So then you try to explain yourself. You try your best to make it make sense. Yet somehow, you still find yourself feeling and being misunderstood. As if people are reading a completely different version of you than the one you’re actually living. Eventually, it gets exhausting and you start holding back. Overthinking. Replaying every conversation and interaction. Or maybe, you actually stop explaining it altogether.

And somewhere in all of that, the thought settles in, Is it just me? Am I too much?

Whether it’s the complexity of your story, the intensity of your emotions, or the experience of feeling like the world keeps getting you wrong, I get it. Truly. And I know what it’s like to finally sit with someone who actually understands.

As your therapist, that’s where we’ll start our draft. I'm not here to fix you or force you into a version of yourself that’s more digestible for others. Instead, we’ll make sense of all the patterns that you’re experiencing, the parts of you that react quickly and the parts of you that shut down just as fast. We’ll get curious and begin fine-tuning your voice, allowing your true story to take the lead. A story representative of who you are with clarity and confidence, helping you to feel happier and more connected.

I’ll be there for it all, too. The moments when you aren’t sure what the next chapter will bring, the times when you have lost the plot entirely, and even the emotions you don’t quite have the words for yet.

Together, we’ll help the world understand the real you.

Mental health is a human right here at Interfaith Bridge Counseling and we are committed to making care genuinely reachable for Colorado teens and young adults, it’s one of the reasons I joined this practice. When you choose your rate, we ask that you consider what you can genuinely afford to pay consistently, while also honoring that this is our livelihood. Our sliding scale is a mutual aid model:

Those who pay closer to the top make it possible for those who need to pay less to access care. Your rate is a reflection of your financial reality, a contribution to our Colorado community, and a recognition that the people supporting you deserve to be sustainably compensated for their work.

Common Teen Therapy & Young Adult Therapy Questions:

  • Yes, I accept all RAEs of Health First Colorado (Medicaid), including CHP+. I also offer a pay-what-you-can sliding scale from $60-$140 for those without Medicaid, are uninsured, or have commercial insurance.

  • Yes. I work with teens ages 10-18 and young adults ages 19-35. I especially love working with teens and young adults who feel emotionally intense, frequently misunderstood, or like they keep ending up in the same painful patterns, including those navigating adoption, chronic illness and disability, and BIPOC identity.

  • Adoption and chronic illness-informed therapy means I have lived experience in them, I don’t just comprehend these experiences clinically. I, myself, am adopted and navigate chronic health challenges, and can bring that context into the therapeutic space with us. When you’re talking about the complexity of your story or the weight of a body that the world doesn’t always make room for, you don’t have to start from scratch to explain it to me.

  • Absolutely. If your teen, or you, keep ending up in the fallout of an explosion that you didn’t mean to start, shutdown before anyone can get close, or have been told you’re too much…that’s exactly who I work with. Emotional dysregulation is a pattern with. a story behind it and that’s what we’ll work to understand, together.

  • Yep, I offer both in-person sessions in the Denver Metro area and telehealth across Colorado. Telehealth means you can join from wherever feels most comfortable (your bedroom, your car, wherever you can carve out a quiet moment for yourself). But if meeting face to face feels more like you, I’d love to make that work too.

  • Schedule a free 30 minute phone consultation with me. No paperwork, no commitment, just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
